The Christian Church in 21st Century Singapore

As the 21st Century poses many new challenges,so the Christian Church must arise to respond to these challenges. This book came out of this need. This is a truly made-in-Singapore response that is both relevant to the person involved in Church ministry and educational to the person in the pew. The topics are specific and user-friendly for the former and comprehensive for the latter. It is relevant in so far as it directly recognizes the forces present in society such as postmodernism and technocracy, and guides our responses to these. It educates by giving greater awareness of a broad sweep of topics ranging from economics, national Christian identity, counseling and psychology, spirituality, evangelism and age group ministries, to theology and theological education, and then dealing with each in sufficient depth to inform and stimulate discussions. As one reads the pages, one inevitably observes a common thread of thinking from the various writers. There is a call to grow deeper in faithful response to the Gospel and more effectively propagate it, to build the foundations against the tide of change, and to the appreciation of community. Each article has its own style and tone - from reflective, challenging, personal, didactic to pastoral. Take it in, and be inspired.
