Preaching - A Comprehensive Approach to the Design and the Delivery of Sermons
Author: James W. Cox
This book attempts to help ministerial students and practicing pastors to preach well: that is, to preach with solid biblical and theological content; to preach sermons that engage both heart and mind; and to preach interestingly, persuasively, and with integrity.
This is not a book that favors a narrow concept of method. It recognizes that preachers have personalities that differ and that congregations have differing needs and capacities. Therefore, this book attempts to set forth a variety of ways to communicate Christian truth.
This is, of course, a concession to individual personality differences, but it is also an effort to suggest alternative ways of “getting the message across,” so as to make the preparation of every sermon a challenge to be creative and effective.
