1. BOTT 2006
Because of the times 2006 is one of those events which you don’t want to miss. Pastors and church leaders from several parts of Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the US have converged for this special event. BOTT is held every year in Alexandria, Louisianna and thousands of ministers come for the conference. Every two years, the team of preachers come to an Asian city. This year they have come to Singapore.
I would like to encourage you to come for some of the meetings. Soak into the atmosphere and let the Lord strengthen and encourage you in your faith.
There are night services every night from Thursday night to Saturday night. There are also day sessions. You can view the exact schedule at http://www.tabjoy.org/bott2006/program.pdf
2. Sis Genny’s seminar on Sunday 30 July 2006.
11:15-2pm Israel in Prophesy
This is a continuation of the end time seminar which Sis Genny conducted last week.
3:30 -5:30pm Obeying the Gospel
This is a seminar especially for those interested to know how to share the full gospel to someone else, or to help someone who is contemplating baptism or becoming a Christian. If you know a friend who has these questions this session is very suitable for them.
Do invite your friends and make use of this session to reach someone for the Lord. I have sent some email announcements in the last two days about these seminars which you could forward to your friends. If you do not have them, you can check our church website for those announcements.
3. Seminars with Bro Joseph Tamel in August 2006
We will be having Bro Joe Tamel for the following two Sundays and several other meetings. The write up for these seminars are as follows. We are still tweaking the dates so that it will work out but I wanted you to have an idea so you can get ready to make invitations.
Excellence in Education
In this two-part seminar, first discover the pattern of ethical and moral atrophy that has made our children’s future perhaps less secure than ever before. In part II, find out how Character Education is one proactive way of contending with this dilemma. Although schools play a significant role in this particular arena, the most profound impact on a student’s development comes from within the home, and more specifically from the student’s family. In this seminar, we will thoroughly discuss 10 virtues that each child should possess, stemming in large part from a myriad of Character Ed. programs from around the world, including a brief look at the City Montessori School, in Lucknow India, where it has been accurately stated, “Excellence springs from values.”
Who should attend: If you are an educator, parent or person responsible for any aspect of children’s education, this seminar will be of much interest to you.
Date: 12th August (Saturday)
Time: 2.30-5pm
Leading in a Culture of Change
If the crux upon which all of Christendom stands is transformation, how is it that the church has become one of the most static institutions in the world? With this question as the backdrop, this seminar will challenge leaders to once again pursue the “true” business of the church, while revealing the subtle training habits of Christ, who successfully turned ordinary people into extraordinary leaders.
Dates: 7th & 11th August (Monday & Friday)
Time: 7:30pm
An Invitation to a Revolution (youth seminar)
Perhaps Ralph Waldo Emerson said it best, even if he wasn’t necessarily referring to teenagers or twenty-somethings: “To be great is to be misunderstood.” Young people throughout history have generally looked to spread their wings and express themselves in unique and new-found ways, often driven by passion to alter and improve upon what the generations before them have established.
Sometimes, these efforts are misunderstood, and even categorized as acts of rebellion and works of disgrace. Young people may be surprised to discover that Jesus was also perceived in his day as a subversive trouble-maker; they might also be excited to know that his message to his audience was couched within an invitation to join him in a revolution that would change the world. Guess what? That invitation is still open, today! All right…who’s in?
Dates: 6th & 13th August. Sunday.
Time: 2.30-5.30pm
4. Monday Bible classes
To help everyone attend the various seminars we will be running, we will take a break from our Monday classes on 31July and 7th of August 2006.
5. Sunday morning prayer
Don’t miss these times of prayer at 10:30am every Sunday morning. The Lord wants to use them to energize and build us and the church.
The Lord bless you richly
Bobby
