It’s time once again as a church for us to unite in corporate prayer. This July to August churches in Singapore join in a season of fasting and prayer as we ask the Lord to soften the hearts of the masses who have not come to know Him, bring revival to His church and to restore His people. I urge you to pick one of those prayer booklets found in our church office and join us in prayer.

Devotional

Last week ministering among churches in Bangkok made me greatly appreciate our Pentecostal distinctives (if you don’t know what they are, I think you would benefit from our CLC classJ). I am glad we believe God’s word and take it as it is. Others who are learning about that are flowing into that same river! Hallelujah!

As I ponder over matters such as the DaVinci Code and other interesting attempts to denigrate Christianity, Jesus and the Bible, I wonder whether most skeptics will ever want to actively search for truth. As most people know, a little library research will easily uncover much of the fiction which is used by Dan Brown in his book, the DaVinci Code. But the masses who choose not to believe in the Jesus of the Bible, would very much love to uncritically accept such fiction instead of embracing the reliable, well validated accounts of Scripture. No, Dan Brown and others don’t say that Jesus didn’t exist or that he wasn’t a great teacher. No, they will assert that Jesus is a historical person. They will however never accept the narrow way that Jesus prescribed and the truth that He is God and Lord.

Isaiah 40:28-31 NIV: Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
